Catches of the Day

Fishing

There are some great fishing spots around Taveuni, Vanua Levu, and the smaller neighbouring islands. Fishing is a great day out, and we always go stocked with some adult refreshments just in case the fish aren’t biting.

In the gallery below – some of my regular fishing buddies including local residents Claude and Denis, under the watchful eye of Professional Fisherman Captain John Laines of Makaira Resort guiding us to land the Big One(s).

Kayaking the Taveuni Coastline

Since we’re an island kayaking is very popular with tourists and locals alike, and you have the option of kayaking the coastline and open ocean, or inland through mangroves, streams and rivers. Head upstream and you’ll likely find a waterfall, or just a great spot to sit and relax.

Simply Snorkeling

You don’t need to be a fully fledged diver to enjoy Taveuni’s fantastic corals and the underwater wildlife, and you don’t have to go to far offshore either. Simply grab some basic snorkeling gear and away you go ! With minimum effort you’ll enter a peaceful aquatic wonderland full of colour.

Celebrity Snaps from the Social Circuit

There’s plenty of socializing, meeting and visiting friends and neighbours around the island – a collection of random photos of some of my favourite people at parties, events, or just generally unwinding after a hot slog around the golf course..
